Illusion of Time stores up a set of peaceful drone music balanced with delightfully executed ambient atmospheres, which lushes on the album self experience.

Alessandro Cortini joins Daniel Avery to create a sweeping sea of misty ambient synthesizer work. Hazy, blissful synth pads are obscured with harsher, distorted floods of white noise. It’s an enveloping and spectral album, characterised by its other-wordly, obfuscated soundscapes, droning frequencies that wash throughout the whole album and foggy synthesizers. Daniel Avery teams up with Nine Inch Nails instrumentalist Alessandro Cortini to create an album that’s calmer than Song For Alpha. There are times where the music can get repetitive, but there is a good atmosphere to be heard throughout this project. "CC Pad" is reminiscent of the early work of Boards Of Canada and "Inside The Ruins" carries a pleasing 70’s industrial feel.
