There are some definite bangers on this album, It was a lot of fun. Probably one of the best projects out by a fairly smaller artists. It's still hype as hell, although I did feel it could've used a bit more polish and refinement on the production side. I still recommend you give it at least a listen if you're a fan of trap or want to get into it. This is down to the basics a tutorial on how to listen to trap music. Key Glock is ready for that Freshman list.
While he really emerged at the beginning of 2018 with notably Russian Cream, the Tennessee native and Young Dolph's protégé, has progressed a lot since then, first with a great second mixtape at the end of the year Glockoma, then the collaborative project Dum & Dummer released last year and now with this last effort Yellow Tape. Not mad at this. It's refreshing to listen to a project from a young artist that isn't cluttered with features. Big Glock shows he knows his history (the "Nuthin But a G Thang" interpolation on "Dough" is fun to listen to), he actually has some lyrics that are worth listening to and the syrupy bass-heavy Memphis beats are pretty great for the most part. A couple of wack tracks (like "Crash") do not take away from the fact that this tape is OK.

I was not expecting a masterpiece from Key Glock on this project all I wanted was a solid, consistent project. Overall Key Glock produces a solid album. Some of the tracks begin to blend in with each other towards the end, and for the most part the best tracks from this project are found in the first half. Dough is a great song, shows his true potential. Not underwhelming, but I expected more. Maybe I expected too much?
