María José Llergo, one of the most intriguing new acts in Spain's on the rise flamenco scene, remarkably nurtures her dainty, nearly transcendental vocals in this enchanting debut record. A fascinating opening chapter, one that her dedicated fans have been awaiting for years. For those unaware, I can very much sum up Maria's profoundly angelic voice as...a delicate pot of melted gold. Very much prestigious and valuable, but can be consumed and interpreted in different ways, ... read more
Today I was looking for something new to listen to, without finding anything interesting and then I came across Sanacion, a Latin folk work by a Spanish singer Maria José Llergo, and I can sincerely say that it is a nice and pleasant surprise.

Rhythmed by her flamenco and downtempo roots, which she takes from her Andalusian culture, since she was born in the south of Spain in Pozoblanco, Maria offers us a refined and bewitching music. I still have an interest in traditional Latin ... read more
OMG... This is stunning, it is beyond mystical-beautiful. It is easily one of the most entrancing records crafted for this year so far. Then it ... read more

"niña de las dunas," "el hombre de las mil lunes," and "el péndulo" are all ... read more

And when I see an album like this receiving props from many people I’m interested in listening but I’m never sure if I’m going to enjoy it because it just might not be for me. But in this case I was met with a very pleasant surprise.

María is a very talented vocalist who impresses throughout. The album ... read more
