A rare example of an album where it would pain me if a single thing was changed, be it track order or track selection. Yes, I even love the production, everything.

My favourite album of the lot - and I don’t say that lightly. Oh no.


I'm gonna hope that it's just a coincidence that i've been listening to this a lot lately...
Infected is a great follow up to Soul Mining and feels like a fairly natural progression for Matt Johnson, who is at this point in The The's discography, still using the name as a solo project. It is inescapable, songs like the title track, Heartland and Sweet bird of truth haunt me with no end. This album is filled with good songwriting that is pared up with a very solid performance by the vocalist that allways leave me wanting to listen to it again.
Very few low moments can be found, the most notable of which in my opinion is Slow train to dawn. Allthough I like the track i think the execution on the exchange of lines between singers leaves ... read more
