I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't slightly mixed on this new Boldy James album. I love The Alchemist's production heavily. From that standpoint, I love this album. Murky, Dirty, Grimey east-coast boom bap beats. However, my issues lie with Boldy if anything else.

On one hand, I love Boldy's lyricism. It's direct and honest quite vivid as he lays out (in a pretty "matter of fact" fashion) these grim hood stories. At same time, however, I can't help but think he's outshined by his ... read more
The legendary producer, The Alcheimist, with his enviable catalog of collaborations, launches his third project in collaboration with American rapper Boldy James.

I don't know much about Boldy James, but I feel i have to check out My First Chemistry Set in the near future because i was impressed by this but at the same time I feel it could of been better. Boldy James clearly has some get story telling skills and the production here is great but i for me his deliver feels lackluster at times and it really stops me from giving this album a higher score.
