As someone who loves most of Gojira's music, this album had my interest, and sadly I can't say I'm loving it guys, I really can't. Sorry. I certainly understand the Gojira comparsions, because on Incorporeal, Stoned God go for that similar cleanly produced groove metal sound. A lot of what makes Gojira so likeable for me however isn't really present here, with the lyricism and really a lack of great progressive moments. It has a few proggy sections, but I'm not finding many. There are ... read more

@theifofprose's ratings are a treasure trove for finding obscure metal. They recommended me this album a few months ago, so seeing the person it was coming from, I knew I had to give it a listen. What even is this? It feels like Gojira had an unholy love child with lamb of god and made one of 2020s most mind blowing releases
The production on this album is absolutely killer, it really amplifies the intensity of the instrumentation in the best way. The album itself is a pretty standard metal affair, but the quality production and performances are undeniable.

Standout: Dethrone the Traitors
Favs: Incorporeal, Alive, Glowworms, Celestial Deicide
Least fav: Illusion
