Soakie has a balance between a “terrible scream” and a “well-crafted and non-cunning sound”.
On all tracks the same melody, one singing structure, but this does not give you complete discomfort.

Soakie's debut is a short 13 minutes of hardcore punk which ultimately is just there for me. The album isn't bad but I wouldn't say it is good either. My main problem is the vocals, sheing a female front in a hardcore punk band is rare so I am always excited to see what it sounds like but the vocals on Soakie are just meh, they not as fierce as I would like and when the lead singer (sorry don't know her name) is shouting the volume doesn't increase so there isn't that punch which I enjoy from ... read more

The energy and excitement of Soakie's self-titled debut is by far the highlight of this incredibly short 13-minute LP. Outside of the chaos throughout this short duration, the message of many of these tracks is relatable. Songs like Boys on Stage and Ditch the Rich are commanding, if somewhat pedestrian from a lyrical standpoint.
