katie sounds like a dreamy version of angel olsen. both have a distinct edge: an edginess that simultaneously renders and empowers

after an impressive start (you remind me): the album begins to peak during ‘caged sleep’ , and the momentum continues through every track thereafter

on first listen, i perceived the music as inconsistent and dull. it seemed doomed in playfulness. almost begging to self sabotage the sophistication.

now, i believe each synth, second, and sound serves ... read more

Новая ... read more

New York-based artist newest effort brings on the good in chamber pop and laced with her own distinct individuality, coupled with sparse lyricism and jangly melodies, up par to her 2017’s Shitty Hits. She distinctly reminds me of her contemporaries, highly of Aldous Harding or Angel Olsen with her inspiration towards fractured relationships. This is a good one.

It treads that fine line between standard folk pop and deconstructed, haunting pop with devastating affect. Didn't expect much coming into this one, so I'm pleasantly surprised.

"Consummation" is an indie rock album with elements of dream pop and indie pop music, so is a mellow record. Katie Von Schleicher's warm and ethereal vocals make the album Airy and Stylish. "Katie Von Schleicher" focuses on themes of love, abuse, depression and self-harm, and manages to keep a balance.
This is not an album that you haven't listened before, but "Katie Von Schleicher" with her dreamy vocals and some interesting lines shows that has a shred of ... read more

What a pleasant listen!

Incredible voice (at least in terms of interpretative quality) super attractive arrangements and an amazingly chill mood. Otherwise, the lyrics are not that chill, but do not we love the contrasts?

In terms of musical approach She is quite difficult to sort out, for sure there is a lot of indie pop there, but she embrace many of the nineties sound (Aimee Mann is there to knock that door) and some of the (synth) pop you can find this days in artist like Soccer Mommy ... read more

Incredible vocal performance, it really sells the emotional substance in the songs. The instrumentals are dreamy and the songwriting is solid.

Consummation is the second full length release from Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Katie Von Schleicher and this release sees her embarking on a larger sound, that separates her from her lo-fi beginnings. The arrangements on these songs are lush with buzzy guitars, woozy synths and drum machines, as Schleicher’s haunting vocals lead us through tales of disconnection and disillusion. At times her lyrics are come across as vague or cryptic, but then there are others were their true ... read more

great ~ on her third album, katie von schleicher explores a darker side of indie pop and indie rock, which is full of dark lyrics juxtaposed with (sometimes) lighter instrumentals. but her voice ends up being the shining star. and some of the songs on here remind me of soccer mommy, which is always a plus. and um "gross" should've totally been the album closer imo.

best songs: you remind me, wheel, caged sleep, messenger, loud, can you help?, brutality, hammer, power, gross, nothing ... read more

Katie Von Schleicher was only barely on my radar before “Consummation,” but it turns out she’s right up my alley. This is an impressive and versatile breakthrough statement that proves Von Schleicher is equally adept at constructing dizzying psychedelic soundscapes as she is with surprisingly effortless pop hooks. The highlights of “Consummation” are its expansive, maximalist arrangements, which pull from several approaches from her contemporaries — the album ... read more

Katie Von Schleicher returns with solid lo-fi production take gives a smooth and relaxing feel in Consummation. The extrmely vague lyrics are almost non-sequitorial without any context and attempting to understand them feels like a chore.
