God. He probably doesn't even get feedback in the studio because the people are sleeping. This is just boring and lifeless man. Kids be really failing their classes because they'll listen to a Lil baby album before a test and they really wonder what caused them to fail
Although you can't rely on the first listening and give it a bit of time, My Turn is an album that leaves me with a bit of a bitter taste.
But I had high hopes for this new project, which I thought was going to be a good one, being a good fan of the rapper, but in the end it's a bit of a frustration. Lil Baby had demonstrated on Harder Than Ever all his raw power by really installing his universe (this is my favourite project) and he had refined his previous work and his formula by proposing a ... read more
Discography Diaries #6: NOT GOODS
Album #33: My Turn by Lil Baby
Genre: Trap Rap

Continuing on with my dive through Fantanos NOT GOODS we have Lil Baby with My Turn. Lil Baby is a rapper from Atlanta who has risen to incredible popularity in the mainstream trap landscape and if I'm completely honest up to this point Lil Baby's popularity has been mind boggling to me, as Lil Baby hasn't really done much to make him stand out from being just another trap rapper. I ... read more
i hate lil baby fans. they’re almost as bad as cole fans honestly. my friends are lil baby fans and they called RTJ irrelevant.
An amazing album with very less to dislike. This is the best rap album so far in 2020.
Best Songs: Heatin Up, Sum 2 Prove, Grace, Whoa, Emotionally Scarred, Forget That
Worst Songs: Hurtin, Solid, Get Ugly
I did a relisten to this album because I got kind of curious what I think of it now, because I haven't listened to it in so long. The album is pretty solid in my opinion. Good production, good features and some of Lil Baby's best songs.
Alright mfs I listened to this cuz I don't fw lil baby like that and I told my friend who does that his feature on hurracane was really good and he said "Yeah maybe that's cuz lil baby is good and ur just a hater". So I tried listening to a full lil baby project for the first time in a year. And for the first 5 tracks I was actually thinking that maybe I was wrong, maybe I was just a hater. But this shit is so mind numbing oh my god. His flow gets tedious after a few tracks and all ... read more
This record is actually way better than you might think at first. Sure, Lil Baby isn't the biggest and best lyricist of all time, there are some good bars he has and stuff but he isn't the best at doing that. Still, this record has a damn great replay value, do to the songs being really often really catchy on here. Stuff like 'Heatin Up' sounds like Lil Baby is at his best here, and there are some other songs you can easily see him getting better and better. While, I know it seems like I love ... read more

My Turn is a thirteen-in-a-dozen album, but it's not the worst of its kind. Yes, it's generic, bland and mostly boring, and at 20 tracks and one hour of playing time, it's way too long. But it's also tolerable, easy-listening and perfectly suited to serve as background music. When listening to this album a little more carefully it's evident Lil Baby is a mid rapper at best. Still better than most other trappers though (as some of the features like the one from Lil Uzi Vert show and prove). Sad ... read more
Decent enough rap album for this year, nothing too great, but nothing too bad, just decent. Production and features help a lot. I look forward to seeing what else Baby has to make, hopefully, he can top this, though it may be good, it's def not his best (or AOTY which I've heard some saying)
This was kind of bad. I have heard worst though. Lil Baby just fills this up with some very mediocre lyrics, with some repetitive flow. Throughout the whole album, he has a similar flow from the last song. Which kind of makes it more harder to listen to. Just really lacks any type of creativity. It is like he just try to do as usual and just does a lazy job, and just hopes he can make a hit. Which doesn't really happen at all. Just gets a lazily put together album, that lacks any type of ... read more
In the first song, I was already tired of Baby's voice. Hearing this after all the features he's done, hearing the same flow and delivery is not exciting. The beat is decent, but it doesn't save the song from Baby's annoying voice and already stale and repetitive flow. This is already so repetitive. The beat is the same, with only minor changes, and Baby sounds the same. The terrible autotune also doesn't help. How do people think that Lil Baby is so great? I mean... I like some of his ... read more
time has been friendly to this album. the deluxe version is better, but this still holds up. people usually expect "debut rap album" to mean "there's going to be eccentric beats and it's going to feel like a *moment*." but lil baby just kept making the same types of songs he's always made, and i think people were initially disappointed. what we didn't realize was that he was rapping better than ever, and these songs would connect with people more than arguably anything else ... read more
I’ve never really understood why Lil Baby was popular. Sure, he’s not the worst trap artist I’ve ever heard, but what makes him special? I always just seen him as somebody who is incredibly average but can occasionally come through with a decent feature or a song that I can enjoy once in a while. I wasn’t really expecting much from this album, and I guess I was right to.
Think about what a 20 track Lil Baby album would be like. That’s what this is. An incredibly ... read more
This album for me has been one of the hardest albums for me to score. One moment I either love the whole thing or the next moment I think it’s the most mid release of 2020. While I have a couple of songs I love, I do think the album does suffer from so variety and gets kinda boring at some points. Commercial is still the best song on this album tho.
I heard a few good songs and features from Lil Baby so I thought I would check this out thinking maybe he's not one of those "single" artists.....
I was completely wrong, he is definitely a "singles" artists. I was able to find a few songs I liked and added to my Playlist but this whole thing is tiring and repetitive
I hate to be that guy who brings the tone down, especially when it comes to one of the best selling and most hyped-up records of the year, but I truly despised this record. On "My Turn", Lil Baby drags his listener through one of the most strenuous hours this year has offered musically, which consists of twenty painfully uninspiring and dull tracks. As I listened to each track, I struggled to grasp onto even a single thing that I liked. The production is bland, so bland that it made ... read more
This is what you call FUN. It's not an Earth shattering masterpiece, but sometimes you need music like this to just have a good time to. This is something I feel confident bumping in front of some homies and lighting up just to have a nice long talk. Yeah, it is too long, but I had a good time all the way through. Pretty much the entire first half is just fire.
This attempts to narrate the Atlanta rapper's journey to stardom through a guest-star-packed album, but it comes across as more labor than inspiration. While singles like "Sum 2 Prove" and "Woah" lived up to high expectations, the rest of the album falls short of maintaining interest. Although Lil Baby has evolved lyrically, a preference for his earlier style remains. The album's excessive length dilutes its impact, and a more concise tracklist could have elevated its score. ... read more
