Conceptually, ‘La Vita Nuova’ is an astonishing feat – but even better than that, it also oozes an intensity of feeling that punches right in the gut.
As much of a surprise the release of the EP was, the fact that music from Chris completely takes your breath away, is no surprise at all; and thus the award-winning, highly acclaimed artist continues her impeccable run.
Christine is still truly in a league of her own.
La vita nuova sounds like a collection of essentials for a soon-to-be prolific artist.
La Vita Nuova is a fine complement to the Chris era.
A rich, rewarding, and extremely direct return, one worth observing on its own terms.
The EP insists that Chris is no mere pop artist, since she comes to the table with both the refinement and the mythos of a pop star. It could very well presage a turning point for Letissier, a sharp and sudden push towards expanded international public consciousness.
The singer and producer’s dazzling new EP is a subtle gesture about grace and interiority and the illusion of effortlessness, the same attributes that mark Chris as a true star.
It is once again apparent that he has some special things going on with Christine and The Queen, which also explains why "Christine"'s music is exported unlike that of his compatriots. This is so much better than Chris. Instead of having French and English versions of each song she just picks what’s best for the song and here we have a very solid 6-track ep. love it! This time in even more languages but whatever!
I understand where people who thought Christine was overrated on her last project came from, but this ep is stellar and an improvement in all fronts for Christine, in my opinion. People i've been sad it's easily my favorite of the year so far. Looking forward to everything Christine is dropoing from now on.
The title track is electrifying, and who doesn't love a trilingual album? This is a big level up from Chris and major artistic breakthrough from one of the most interesting people currently making pop music.
I can't believe this is about to turn 4 years old. I think this is one of Chris' strongest works, as a project it's concise and well-rounded. J'aime toujours entendre les chansons qui ont une versionne française et une versionne anglaise, je peux choisir la versionne que je préfère chaque fois. I was already a fan of Chris long before this, and while their later projects haven't resonated with me as much, I always find myself revisiting this project.
