One of my favourite EPs of 2009. To this day I still find these to beats pack a punch and use really remarkable loops.
Sparkles is a song I want to point out for its one of a kind beat, its drums make this thing moody and gives me the feeling of being inside a sweat lodge full of volatile water, and I don't even know if its a guitar doing this but the flicks at the end of every second bar is haunting and fear inducing like a Luigis Mansion type beat.

In contrast to their eponymous sister EP from 2009, Shabazz Palaces intrigue more from the outset with greater use of vocal and instrumental sampling. From the opening piano bars of the first track, and their promise within its lyrics that they are committed to providing greater musicality than the majority of his hop outfits, Palaceer Lazaro and Tendai Maraire have produced a lighter and more accessible counterpart to their other aforementioned darker and drumbeat dominated EP.
