Tyler's signature eerie sound and abrasive lyrics just bore me at this point. On his debut, The production barely changes up, and most of what's being said here just makes me cringe. It also moves slow af.
This definitely sounded better at 16.

FAV: Bastard, Seven, Odd Toddlers, Blow, VCR/Wheels, Session, Sarah & Inglorious

Quite an underrated project. Nowhere near Tyler's best, but it's still pretty good.

FAV: Odd Toddlers, Pigs Fly, Slow It Down, AssMilk, VCR/Wheels,

LEAST FAV: Parade

This was some weird shit when I first heard Bastard. Everything about this was edgy, but also very dark. Nothing like this was being made at the time and I think you can forgive Tyler, with this being his most early material and showing a lot of promise. There’s obviously a lot of untapped ideas waiting to open up. It’s nothing super exciting, but I think it’s worth going over to see where he came from.

i got bored very quickly on this tape. the production was interesting, tyler's lyrics were witty at times, but the speed of the album seemed much too slow, and i didnt think that tylers voice matched the beats all too well. the project is very impressive considering it was wholly self made by tyler when he was 17, but judging it as a piece of music shows the flaws in it. great start to his discography though.
fav tracks: french!

Bastard is by far Tyler's most boring and forgettable release so far. I genuinely don't even know what to say because I can barely remember anything of note. The beats were mostly uninteresting and the lyrics were more times than not just cringy.

Favourite Tracks: French!; Bastard

Least Favourite Tracks: AssMilk; Odd Toddlers; Slow It Down
