A Tyler album that isn't a Tyler album
"Fuck a deal, I just want my father's email so I can tell him how much I fuckin' hate him in detail."

Bastard is a disturbing, esoteric, off-the-wall, raw, and most importantly captivating character portrait of a seventeen year old whose inability to be pigeonholed into society both comes as a curse and the catalyst for making him one of the greatest minds of modern music. Tyler is so much better as a Neo-Soul / Synth Funk type artist but his older, hardcore orientated and experimental works are interesting and can be enjoyable to say the least. i got bored very quickly on this tape. the production was interesting, tyler's lyrics were witty at times, but the speed of the album seemed much too slow, and i didnt think that tylers voice matched the beats all too well. the project is very impressive considering it was wholly self made by tyler when he was 17, but judging it as a piece of music shows the flaws in it. great start to his discography though.
fav tracks: french!
Tyler's signature eerie sound and abrasive lyrics just bore me at this point. On his debut, The production barely changes up, and most of what's being said here just makes me cringe. It also moves slow af.
This definitely sounded better at 16.

FAV: Bastard, Seven, Odd Toddlers, Blow, VCR/Wheels, Session, Sarah & Inglorious
