"The Innocents" is not an album to listen to while doing some homework, it requires your attention and can put you in moments of reflection for hours.

I also think that his lack of personality and high points will not make it a memorable album in Weyes Blood's career, you have to listen to it over and over to get a deep feeling about it.

Land of Broken Dreams - 7.0
Hang On - 7.0
Some Winters - 7.0
Summer - 7.0
Requiem for Forgiveness - 8.0
Ashes - 8.0
Bad Magic - 7.0

This was a great introduction to Weyes Blood's music for me, the production is soft lush and the singing is just wondrous. The album is nicely paced and most of the tracks are really solid. I don't think this project is as strong as her other albums but I'd still highly recommend it to fans of her other work. My favorite tracks on the album are Some Winters, Summer and Bound to Earth.
The markings of Nathalie’s superpower as a musician were laid out in her earlier material, but there are some creases that need to be ironed out from this release. But her enchanting gifts as a lyricist and vocalist are still on full display here.

Standout: Hang on
Favs: Land of Broken Dreams, Ashes
Least fav: Requiem for Forgiveness
She warbles.

Warble, warble, warble.

even for a folk vibe album, i would still call this album boring..
