One of the most hauntingly beautiful modern classical records in recent memory, Flood Dream quickly gets its hooks in you with its mysterious opener, and continues to entrance you with its string of subsequent arias that seem to emerge from an ethereal plain too terrible and wondrous to be fully understood by mere mortals. One of the best albums of 2020 that nobody heard of.

absolutely unique thing which scares and both calms my mind
It’s so dull, but that works out for its moods. All the pain presented is stretched so thickly and divinely. There is a lot of expression yet it is reserved. Each biting chord from the harp actually feels important while also being supportive to the instrumental layer. There are some tiny ideas of resolution that may come, and when it doesn’t, it’s beautiful.
