Drowned in Sound

But the thing is, while the songs aren’t exactly good per se, they’re certainly not hateful.

No Ripcord

The London trio have instead settled for some unwanted knife-edge limbo of could-do-better.

There's nothing unique, rewarding, or even merely engaging enough to be worthy of another spin.

Favorite tracks : IS LOVE.

Whereas To Lose My Life had three good songs that lifted the record from average to above average, there's not even one standout track on this one, and most of the songs are sub-par.

White Lies delivers thunderous synths, dark vocals, and screeching guitars that remind you of The Chemeleons, Echo & The Bunnyman, and the Swans. However, other than a handful of tracks, most of it feels very slugish and boring. When they do hit a diamond in the rough, it is something special.

Favorite tracks: Bigger Than Us, Peace & Quiet, Turn the Bells
