Ahead of Plastic Anniversary, it is important we revisit this monumental work of surgery-core.
This album makes me feel violently fucking uncomfortable but otherwise it's pretty cool 👍
Matmos made the record everyone always wanted: an album constructed entirely out of surgical noises (yay!!!) The sounds of cuts, slurps, and other bodily noises are remixed into glitchy electronic bops. It is incredible the distance these sounds are from their meaty source. There are more recognizable sounds like heart monitor beeps or static white noise that give some indication on where the sounds originated.
