Detuned pianos have never sounded so good.

Max De Warner's ambient piece put together entirely from pianos played out of tune often sounds distant and despondent. It's as if the pianos have lost their ability to speak our language and as a result are crying out in frustration in foreign tunes, with progressions that are near impossible to make sense of. But when they do make sense, they convey a loneliness and a sense of loss that is agonizingly relatable.
