"Black Coffee" is a chill album with a moody atmosphere. Delacey's brutally honest way of writing lyrics combines really well with the rock- and blues undertones that can be heard throughout the album. A lot of the songs, however, just feel like they're way too short. They're good songs, but they could have been really great with more vocal variety, lyrics and runtime.

This is the debut studio record of Delacey which is labeled Black Coffee, which is fitting for this record because the album is very raw with it's lyrics and the passion in her smooth and dreamy vocals. At the beginning of the record, she has got the Lana Del Rey vocal range to an eerie degree. Her songs of love and heartbreak could have been cuts on albums like Born to Die or Ultraviolence, but they sound more harsh.
