The Needle Drop

Black Dresses mercilessly kills us with kindness on Peaceful as Hell.

The Canadian noise-pop duo’s music conjures a psychotic slumber party, or a Second Life rave, but remains grounded in the bittersweet beauty of lifelong friendship.

this is their best and most consistent project by far
Big W to Anthony Fantano for the recommendation. I listened to a little bit of this and wasn’t crazy on it, but I hoped a full listen would kinda reveal this thing a bit, and yeah, this is amazing.

This is a lofi soundfuckery experiment that will turn a lot of people off. To me though this is genius. The best headache I have had in a long time!1!11!!11!111

So I decided to FINALLY listen to Black Dresses even after hearing so much good stuff about it, and I gotta say! I thank the people who force- I mean told me to listen to it *cough* @Chode @SMTCubes *cough*.

This album is so destructive and just disjointed in the best way to have this noise pop that I absolutely ADORE, the way Ada Rook and Devi Mccallion bring this weirdly relatable lyrics of just trying to fit in with people. Even ... read more

The first time i listened i hated it and gave it 49/100. But in the last six months I've become more accustomed to wild blends of sounds...

I wouldn't be surprised if i like this album even more after another listen. For now, i'm looking forward to listening to their latest album released recently!!
