If this mixtape is a sign of things to come, then don’t be surprised if Headie One’s name is soon mentioned among the Skeptas, Giggses, and Stormzys of the world. He sure deserves it.

As genres grow past their initial birth, artists inevitably start pushing at their boundaries. Headie One gave us a glimpse of this with last year’s Music x Road, but this collaboration with Fred Again sees him break out of drill in a way that few would have the talent to pull off.

Experimentation is good but this isnt great, it tries to be way too vibey and experimental resulting in 22 minutes being kinda boring. I would've though it would take at least one album to get to this point of Headie's music, a huge a strange jump from Drill / Grime to this. Something like the song 'GANG' I could've expected Headie to evolve to in the near future but I would not think he would make a song like 'Judge Me', which isn't really bad just not Headie's thing and something he should ... read more
