It’s nice when some albums are shorter because it typically means minimal filler, but when you are dancing, you don’t want the vibe to end—especially during a global health crisis. It might be awhile before we’re all dancing again, but in the meantime, the deluxe edition of Rare wants us to hold out hope that all the drama will soon be in remission.

“Rare” doesnt feel like its tied up to all the context around Sel’s past few years, like all her previous solo albums. the topics are not too specific; though, its already something you would expect from her. the album tries to cope with past trauma and blends it with songs that go “i want a boyfriend”.
