Whereas Siskiyou's first two albums were more folk-inclined, Nervous takes a different approach, with hushed, haunted art rock as a sturdy — but eerie — sonic base upon which the orchestral elements stand fully supported.

The third long-player from ... Siskiyou is a brooding, nervy, and darkly satisfying slab of overcast alt-pop that flirts with dissonance, yet remains ultimately committed to harmonic agreement.

Drowned in Sound
Yes, it is reminiscent of a lot of North American indie but Colin Huebert and co have managed to put a pained, intriguing, intimate twist on the genre, which is pretty laudable all in all.

Much of Nervous is a little heavy for what is, on the surface at least, a gentle, lilting folk inflected album. However, there are moments of utter joyfulness to be found.

Under The Radar

Nervous comes three-plus years after 2011's Keep Away the Dead and showcases the same organic leap in emotion and energy that characterized the difference from the first two.

The Skinny
Huebert's barely-there vocals only add to the overall tone: chill, and oddly uninvolving.

On commence par du très bon, voir même de l'excellent ('Deserter' est pour moi la chanson de ce début d'année) et on s'engouffre dans une deuxième moitié de disque hésitante et confuse, voir même complètement inutile. Un potentiel gâché.
