This might be an unpopular opinion, but I greatly prefer this album to The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place. While I still feel like Explosions In The Sky borrow heavily from GY!BE, this album adds some different elements to the mix that I personally haven't found in the latter band's catalogue. It may not be particularly inventive, but All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone is an excellently crafted and emotionally potent dose of post-rock, and I have very little in the way of negative comments.

Oh look they made an album art out of that Fantano tattoo!

I really like the whole concept behind the artwork and how it is reflected in the music as well, without any lyrics or vocal cues. The climaxes are done in a really emotional and sustained way, it just feels a bit formulaic if analysed track-by-track. I also wish it sounded a bit better on vinyl, but maybe it's just my copy.

GO LISTEN TO: What Do You Go Home To?

Pretty yet pretentious. Explosions in the Sky create some very beautiful buildups and climaxes, two important features in post rock, but nothing changes after two or three songs in.
