Pretty yet pretentious. Explosions in the Sky create some very beautiful buildups and climaxes, two important features in post rock, but nothing changes after two or three songs in.

One of the best post-rock albums of all time. I might be biased, since AOASIME has accompanied me through some rough times, but I think that this album can go toe-to-toe with the likes of Godspeed You!Black Emperor. Seriously, do yourself a favor, and give this one a listen.

Favorite Tracks: all of them, especially The Birth and Death of a Day
