A slapdash collection of the most basic beats, some of Mike's worst bars and a completely random collection of features, that are more miss than hit.

Mike's rapping on each track is pathetic, his voice sounds horribly strained as if doing anything louder than speaking is too much for him and his flows are incredibly weak and boring. I know that he's well known for a conversational style of storytelling, but it sounds more like he's rambling on each song here, with some utterly stupid line ... read more

I have no idea how to start this.

So every song mike has this terrible flow and just isn't rapping up to any standard we've seen him at before. All of the charm of the old streets production is gone for this mish mash garage trash which sounds off-beat but not in a good way in a like you can't mix your snares way. Theres these terrible auto-tune hooks throughout that just sound abysmal and add nothing. The features all attempt to save the album but overall don't really add anything, the ... read more

A strange and fascinating comeback from revered English rapper and laptop producer Mike Skinner a.k.a. The Streets. I'm not too familiar with his work, but was impressed by his excellent debut "Original Pirate Material", an album I return to consistently. "None of Us Are Getting Out of This Life Alive", his first new material in nine years, feels a bit like forward-thinking time capsule, an experiment as to where Skinner fits into the modern musical landscape, as numerous ... read more

He somehow made a Tame Impala feature track a terrible track, what the fuck. His flow is terrible and ruins every song, and the instruments and production are AT BEST tolerable. The first song's drums actually made my ears sore, no joke.

Somebody robbed Mike Skinner.
I don't want to completely s**t on the man, but this is almost genius in its atrociousness. Mike's lost it, the song writing and structure is so lazy, the lyrics are literally mental, not in a good way. The features are pointless and even the TRACK LISTING! Why would you put two - almost, ballads at the end of the album and finish it off with a Jump Up Drum n Bass track to close the album, I don't understand.

The mixing and mastering is a robbery, the vocals sound ... read more

This is really good in many ambitions of the album when it does not go beyond typicality.

sigh. The Streets are one of my all time faves but this ain’t it. It’s not like every album is worse than the last either because I actually think Computers & Blues is the 3rd best after the first two. This however is easily the worst of the 6. The tracks with Idles, Jimothy Lacoste, Rob Harvey and Hak Baker somewhat salvage the album to an extent but not too much.

To my surprise I actually enjoyed this quite alot. Mike may not be at the heights of early streets material but he is doing pretty well on here and my god that track with idles is amazing

Mike Skinner is back. But not near the level of Original Pirate Material or A Grand Don't come for free.

The Streets slowly trials off by every album and loses the focus of the original albums in Skinner's discography. This Mixtape does nothing but confirm that correlation.

More consistently funny than any comedy special I've listened to from the past decade. Right on!

"It’s bangers, bops and top-notch observational lyrics at every turn."
"‘None Of Us Are Getting Out Of This Life Alive’ truly sounds and feels like a mixtape, a body of work that’s fresh, spontaneous and brimming with life."
"If midlife crisis haunts the 40-year-old Skinner, encroaching mortality is re-energised by juniors like neo-soul sister Greentea Peng's soporific vibrations on I Wish You Loved You As Much As You Love ... read more

After 9 whole years of inactivity The Streets have decided to return with only member Mike Skinner. The Streets have unquestionably been an essential artist to british music across the past two decades. Coming out with classic records such as Original Pirate Material and A Grand Dont Come For Free. But after The Streets called it quits it felt right. Which is why it’s so weird for Mike Skinner to come back not only with him as the only member, but also this not even being a studio album. ... read more

Actually some great tracks towards the end. Falling Down and Conspiracy Theory Freestyle are some classic Mike Skinner bops, but the whole thing feels weirdly lifeless. Void of the usual raw lyricism and beat-making we'd come to expect from The Streets.

From awful production, to bad rapping and a messy track list, None of Us Are Getting Out of this Life Alive is The Streets at his worst. I do understand that amateurish production and beats has been a cornerstone of Mark Skinner’s sound and was one of the most appealing elements of his earliest and most popular records, however this LP often sounds like the beats I used to make on GarageBand when I was 11. The good ideas that are present here and there are not given room to breath, ... read more
