My introduction to the artist Naeem came from a song of the same name on Bon Iver's record last year, on which he provided background vocals. The Baltimore native got his start under the name Spank Rock, and delivered 2 solo albums and 2 EPs with hip-hop/R&B fusions. Now that his anticipated debut album under the moniker Naeem is out, I find him a very interesting solo artist to look out for in the coming years.

Good stuff. But it's amazing how much is said without saying anything at all.

The man with a Bon Iver song named after him. Naeem is here with an album under his own name project. On "Startisha" Naeem works on his experimented R&B, Pop, hints of trap and Soul fusion. The fluidity of the album is fast paced with the first 3 tracks being very strong. "Simulation" is one of the stronger tracks with great production and songwriting. great ~ woah... this isn't getting the attention it deserves. "startisha" is the genre-blending debut album from naeem. and it's really great. fantastic. the instrumentation on every song is great, and so is naeem's singing and rapping. the features are all really well-done as well. i think i liked every song on here. would definitely recommend this to anyone who listens to music because i think everyone can find at least one song that they can enjoy. my only problem is that i wish ... read more
