Where Dry and Rid of Me seemed brutally honest, To Bring You My Love feels theatrical, with each song representing a grand gesture.

This album is like the definition of "raw". The guitars and basses all sound like theyre playing from an amp thats under 30 meters of dirt, and i believe that was the sound Polly Jean was going for considering all of the other acoustic instrumentals are effectively cleaner than the average in the indusrty, thus creating a contrast of sound within this album which adds a whole other layer to the tension. As a teenager, this LP was probably the first album I felt really viscerally.
One of the best singer-songwriter records of all time. It's still wondrous and cuts like a knife.
great album. i still have some minor issues with her vocals, but i’m sure they’ll be gone with time
