Ayyy the first non me related album I liked! It's a fun quick dose of adrenaline in the for of a very loud and very angry metalcore band.

Standing at a short 23 minutes, Poisionus Wells basically do the same thing for every song. And that's fine it's a good song anyways. If this was a "normal album length" I'd probably hate it but due to its status as a quick ep it gets the job done.

This is very standard metalcore wise I think. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, ... read more

Poison the Wall deliver an album with some cool guitar riffs but doesn't hit as hard as it could. I am no avid metalcore listener as this is my first project from the genre and while I do enjoy the effort this group puts in, they haven't interested me or hit me as hard as I thought a metalcore group would. Don't get me wrong, the guitar riffs are great but the vocals aren't really hitting me as I thought they would. I can see the appeal for this music but on this listen, I ... read more

UNDA5 : # 6

WOW!

this was an extremely impressive record to listen to today, and even more impressive considering it's metalcore (not a huge fan of the genre personally). it almost reminds me of the screamo band Orchid in a way, the way the shrieking vocals combine with the frantic and violent guitar and drums. even the singer was great, even though i'm not usually a fan of his style of vocals. now that i think about it, i should probably check out Jane Doe by Converge now...

But alas, I can’t bring myself to enjoy anything like this. It seems monotonous, and might have a lack of depth as a whole. I know that may be unfair to say, but the only emotion I got from this was “i’m angry grr.” I like albums that take you on ... read more

[UNDA5: Day 6]

"Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder" is a pretty impressive metalcore EP. The playing is kind of sloppy at some points and this is a pretty... normal metalcore release? That still doesn't undermine the quality of it, however, as the aggressive guitars and vocals combined with the writing and emotion behind them are undeniably great.
