Nems is a well-known veteran battle rapper from Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York, who had one of the rawest boom-bap albums last year with Gorilla Monsoon. Ill Bill known for his solo work (his albums The Hour Of Reprisal (2008) and The Grimy Awards (2013) are low-key underground classics), he's also part of Non-Phixion, Circle of Tyrants, La Coka Nostra and Heavy Metal Kings (with Vinnie Paz). This album surprisingly ended up being way better than I was expecting to be honest. In fact, I’d say that it actually lives up to my initial level of excitement. I think this shit is really great. It’s kinda cool that most of my favorite tracks ended up being deep cuts. I’m glad I didn’t sleep on this project just because I wasn’t blown away by every single. What a huge let down. These two are capable of much more, this should've been so much better.
Wow that Immortal Technique verse was DARK. What a way to end an album which was barely holding my interest throughout. Then with the hook which leaves us with the last line of the album "...I'ma see you in hell my friend". Interesting. Actually, the most interesting thing on the album worth talking about really.
