Smokepurpp has been an anomaly for me the past couple of years, he showed promise early on especially around the Deadstar and early soundcloud era but for his past three projects he's been squandering his potential by trying to sound like other artists and watering that sound down whether that be Travis Scott, Playboi Carti or hell he even tried to copy NAV for some reason.

Smokepurpp even at his best is far from an ambitious figure in the trap rap scene, his music has always been very by the numbers and it very evidently heavily took from contemporary artists leading him to become a name that for me is very easily forgotten. 'Florida Jit' hardly features a new approach and sound from the rapper, yet it's still just about gritty, entertaining and well-produced enough for it to at least be a mostly entertaining project to listen to from start to finish.

Kind of overhated, tho I agree this album sounds incredibly lazy. Production is occasionally fire and Purpp sounds good and energetic on a few of the tracks but most of the tracks just sound unfinished. At least he still sorta sounds the same as he did back in 2018, unlike Pump.
