It's a good thing that the post-punk tradition is well established in Manchester for many decades, but, on the other hand, there's not much space left for new bands, like IST IST, to practice their plans.
I discovered this project in a record store, where I was asking for vinyls, and for my interests the gentleman who worked there showed me this to see if I liked it, and showed me the first moments of the song "Wolves", which really left me very puzzled, and made me believe that this project would have that dark and deep aesthetic combined with a super psychedelic and hard wave, which ends up because it doesn't happen exactly as I expected, but it happens in part, and sometimes it is ... read more

Made me think of:
Depeche Mode
I will be honest; this falls right in line with a lot of what I already listen to, but as an example of the post-punk genre (leaning slightly to 80's goth) it is nearly flawless and a great addition. The songs are aggressive yet controlled, powerful but not ponderous.
A slightly unusual mix between unkown pleasures by joy division and little dark age by MGMT but it certainly doesn't not work.
