Gunna received invaluable support on his way to fame, but with Wunna, it looks like he may be able to take it from here.
While WUNNA deserves points for its cohesiveness and impressive highs, its padding proves its downfall: the album's closing run means it remains a pick-and-mix affair, rather than a definitive statement.
Without a doubt, this is one of the best produced hip hop albums of 2020 thus far, but those resources are completely squandered.
Wunna is yet another demonstration of Gunna's talent as a watchmaker capable of surgical precision. It is with his astonishing minimalism that he tries as best he can to offer new horizons to the trap.

Not bad but not anything special. Many times it's just repetitive. Like he just says different lyrics in the exact same way and with exact same flow and only switches once or twice during a song. You're not really supposed to focus on the lyrics, but then what else is good about it? The generic trap beat? The repetitive vocals? This ain't it.
