A better effort than his previous two records, ‘Pegasus’ is a soppy love album that doesn’t stray too far from Trippie’s original emo ethos.

The Ohio rapper’s new album sounds like a randomly generated playlist: tons of options, very little soul.

Pegasus is as ambitious and wide-reaching as any of Trippie Redd's other releases, but it's so overstuffed and creatively empty that when the rare inspired moment does pop up, they're already lost to the overwhelming deluge.

I consider Trippie Redd's "A Love Letter To You" series a staple in the trap world, so I was obviously underwhelmed by this new work, even though I expected it to be a mediocre project just from the tracklisting that was previewed months ago, way before "Pegasus" dropped.

Spooky Sounds >>>>>>>>>>> this shitshow

I mean, that fact was obvious seeing how much of a masterpeece Spooky Sounds was, but what I didn't see coming was how throwaway and horrendous this record would end up being. I wasn’t expecting Trippie to make a huge comeback from his lackluster recent releases with this album, but I wasn’t expecting an album THIS BAD. This is EASILY Trippie Redd’s worst album. I’ve never been a huge fan of ... read more

2020 Catch-Up, Season I OVA: Pegasus.

Even putting aside the gargantuan 74 minute length of the record, Pegasus is for sure Trippie Redd's most confused and cluttered record to date. I'd usually praise a record with as much variety as Pegasus, but each different sound and vocal style Trippie experiments with is either just a bad concept on paper or ends up undercooked and underdeveloped. And then when you factor the overwhelming amount of tracks into the equation, Pegasus becomes a total slog ... read more
