i mean... it's nice and all. really atmospheric and ethereal, but slightly uneasy, like a strange uncanny valley between a dream and a nightmare. the tracks here have this very spacey touch to them that'll just leave you feeling like you're stranded in the ocean; it's delicate and sensitive... but there isn't really anything that makes this stand out amidst this flood of art pop releases we've had this year. it lacks a bit of originality and a bit of creativity; it would be a much greater and ... read more
There is no doubt that one of Week's strength is his soft, milky tone. Since he was in The Maccabees, the band stand out from other indie because of Orlando's voice. This album actually lets him showcase his voice with atmospheric music that put his voice in the center of each song. Still there are no hooks or stand outs throughout the album.
