If you are searching for a sunshine-fuelled pop album for the summer, then your search is at an end.

Clash
OK, singer Mark Foster’s voice occasionally grates, and ‘Don’t Stop’ sounds a little too much like a bad Passion Pit cast-off. But otherwise, this is a feel-good hit of the summer.

Consequence of Sound

Though Torches is a ready-made summer album, its staying power is questionable.

Drowned in Sound

You can’t shake the feeling that Foster has simply stretched the party vibe over as many songs as he can before the momentum runs out.

It's derivative, but Foster the People show a lot of potential in both their sense of melody and the zany production behind it.

P.S. Pumped Up Kicks is a good, catchy song if you don't pay TOO MUCH attention.

Fav Tracks: Pumped Up Kicks, Houdini, Helena Beat, Call It What You Want, (Don’t Stop) Color On The Walls, Warrant

Least Fav Track: I Would Do Anything For You

It's not revolutionary, but my God this album is catchy as all hell, full of infectious beats and synth work, and I have a blast with it.

Favorite Tracks: Waste, Helena Beat, Pumped Up Kicks, Life on the Nickel, Call It What You Want, I Would Do Anything For You, Warrant

Least Favorite Track: Don't Stop (Color On The Walls)

Enjoyable pop music even if most of it is cheesy. The singles on here are really catchy though.

Best Track: Houdini
Worst Track: Call It What You Want

Songs are catchy and memorable............but cheesy as hell, and not necessarily in a good way. Ironically, the best songs on this album, are the bonus tracks that aren't even officially on it. Also, my second favorite song that I THOUGHT was on this album, "Ruby"...........turns out was never even on this album, or even a bonus track. It was just some random song Mark Foster wrote around 2009 or something.

"Pumped Up Kicks" is great, call it overrated and overplayed, ... read more
