AllMusic

Throbbing and covered in sweat, Translation is unapologetic in its intent and a surprisingly welcome reminder of the Peas' power to lift spirits not through socially conscious bars, but internationally appealing, borderless people-pleasing that unites through dance.

Had the Black Eyed Peas limited their exposure to “Ritmo” alone, the novelty might have taken longer to wear off. Instead, the oft clunky Translation doubles down for a full-length that deserved EP treatment at best.

Half despacito, half below average pop music. Black Eyed Peas are stuck in the past.

However, I must say that this album gave me a few good laughs.

Full review:
Jesus, this is really, really bad. I didn't expect this at all, but wow. I'm honestly kind of speechless.
When I listened to this album for the first time, I thought it was terrible, and at some times even laughable. Upon second listen, I literally couldn't stop laughing. Maybe it's just because it's late, but wow this is amazingly ... read more

It's not too (thousand and) late.
After my entire week of listening to The Black Eyed Peas, almost nonstop, my expectations for their newest album were of the lowest amounts. From the singles I heard, I initially thought that they were trying to capitalize on the reggaeton craze of the past 4 years. Technically, I was correct, but this has some sort of "twist"...?

"Translation", apart from being completely standard and meandering, sounds abstract enough to be a ... read more

Well that was immediately one of the strangest listens I've had this year.

The Black Eyed Peas, creators of the masterpieces I Gotta Feeling, Imma Be and The Time (Dirty Bit) return yet again for a... reggaeton album? With the success of the single RITMO (Bad Boys for Life), the Peas decided to capitalize on the success and deliver 56 minutes of latin pop, and right off the bat I wasn't expecting an awful lot. Reggaeton's known to be pretty repetitive and I mean, it's the Black Eyed Peas for ... read more

Black Eyed Peas in 2020.

"Bratatatata
Bratatata, give me action
Bratatatata
Brata, give me satisfaction
Bratatatata
Bratatata, give me action
Bratatatata
Come on, brr, brr, woo"
- The chorus for ACTION.

As you can clearly tell, this is a lyrical masterpiece. These guys have completely perfected music. There's no need for us to continue with this medium anymore, it can't get any better than this.
