CRITIC REVIEWS

AllMusic

Time reaffirms that there's more to Ekko's music than ballads, but a little more consistency would have made this a confident debut instead of a promising one.

Under The Radar
It feels more like a mix of diverse songs than a cohesive album, but there's enough here to keep fans of different genres happy.

PopMatters
Over its course, there is plenty to rave about, and of course some to quibble about as well.

Rolling Stone
Ekko's debut solo LP similarly informs grand pop drama with indie idiosyncrasy – but never quite enough to distinguish it, his stirring tenor notwithstanding.

Pitchfork

Though Time is never less than competent, its biggest problem is an unfortunate lack of personality.

Really mixed and inconsistent. Some absolutely stunning songs and then some mind-numbingly generic flops. Mostly pretty inoffensive, though.

Favourites: Smile, Pull Me Down, Mourning Doves, Burning Doves
Least Favourites: Love You Crazy

Is he the latest trend of pop's endless desire for new faces-voices?
He's not convinced to be.

This Sound, this Voice, this way of Recording has got something unique - even tough the Chords and Vocal Melodies are clearly "Pop"-ish, but in every verse, every transition, every vocal wall you hear the meticulous work behind it. Mikky Ekko in my Opinion, a new "true blood" Artist and, i hope, an Inspiration for a New Generation of Songwriters.
