In spite of its musical intricacy, This Is the Kit remains a relatable portal into the human experience and Off Off On is as appealing as anything Stables has ever released.
Compositionally, Off Off On finds Stables at the top of her game to date.
Off Off On stakes out the Winchester-born, Paris-based Stables as one of the most original and musically gifted artists of today.
On Off Off On, whilst the emotional range of its predecessor may be slightly narrowed, there’s a commitment to broadening the sonic palette that frames Stables’ writing.
Off Off On is a consistently beautiful, well written and produced record but despite its clear qualities it has joined the pantheon of overlong LPS.

This is the kit is the kind of artist that really deserves to be looked at. Whether it is in terms of musicality or his talent as a lyricist, there is always something interesting.
This album is no exception to the rule and this is especially true for the first part of the album which contains a lot of folk nuggets.
