The Hull five-piece have channelled the emotional turmoil around growing up into a modern shoegaze classic.

The Line of Best Fit

Bedroom may be retro in its thinking, but on this debut bdrmm have proved to be forward thinking in execution. An assured and brilliant debut.

bdrmm have crafted a hugely impressive debut - one you can really lose yourself in.

AllMusic

The group seem well-versed in dream pop and post-punk, with a hazy but clean guitar sound and steady, propulsive drumming that nods to Krautrock and space rock, but there are also some more dramatic moments that allude to Brit-pop and alternative rock's anthemic qualities.

bdrmm have chosen a well-worn path, but there’s a freshness here nevertheless.

Q Magazine
bdrmm have their sights fixed unblinkingly at the sonic footprint left by fey early-90s indie types Ride, Pale Saints and Slowdive.

3 75's in a row, I'm on a roll!
I was interested in looking for some new music today, and because of the really cool cover art this album caught my eye. I went in blind, without knowing the artist, genre, or anything. At first I was very unsure of what I was getting myself into, as the very first track is completely instrumental and felt a bit shoegazy. However, when the second track's vocals kicked in, I was beginning to understand just what this album was going for. Shoegaze is a genre that I ... read more

Those areas of sound often mesh well with alternative rock, and Bedroom is no different. Along with that, some of the bass groove and guitar tones are reminiscent of post-punk.

Luckily for bdrmm, all these sounds mesh together in a warm and welcoming way. It's a tried and true sonic method for shoegaze, and even in ... read more

From time to time I fall in love with music that people call average or not especial, I guess this is the specific case of this record.

Though I'm not implying this is remotely perfect, I like most of the ideas presented on bdrmm's debut, from the dream pop melodies to the absolutely amazing vocal performances. This LP has elements that I absolutely love, yet it fails on the objective of keeping that quality throughout the whole thing.

Coming from someone that isn't exactly a fan of ... read more

While not cutting edge or groundbreaking, 'Bedroom' is still an enjoyable and atmospheric post-rock-y, dream pop experience. The band does wear some of their inspirations on their sleeve here, most notably Beach House, but for a debut there's still a lot of identity and personality to be found here
