Animal Collective returns with a short EP, which is one of their best releases. While I do like their new releases a lot (Painting With, Tangerine Reef), I was scared that they were running out of ideas. Especially on Tangerine Reef, while I do get it was supposed to sound very minimalistic, it seemed like they were really running out of ideas. When it comes to Animal Collective, let's just say that I'm definitely not their biggest fan.
Their earlier works of pure experimentation and improvisation still baffle me by just how pointless and meandering they sound, constantly cascading into different, boring obscurities. That Piggy Do Be Knowin 🐷🧠

This is EASILY the best thing they’ve come out with in the last decade. Animal Collective during the 2000s went on one of the most impressive album runs in recent memory only to follow it up in the 2010s with 2 mediocre and forgettable projects. This is the first they have come out with in a while that even has any replay value for me.

"Bridge to Quiet" is a surprise new EP from this legendary band. To say that I have been following AnCo for quite a bit is an understatement. I literally binged these guys for so long that I had to readjust my schedule at one point. That's not to say that it didn't come with some roadblocks during the mid-to-late 10's, as their leanings toward a quirky pop direction kinda fell flat by the time "Painting With" dropped.
