NME

The Florida star's debut album pays tribute to guitar heroes of the past while adding a fresh alt-pop edge.

DIY
Dominic delivers on the hype and then some.
61
Pitchfork
The rising 24-year-old Florida rapper surfs affably on TikTok trends and sounds exactly like a label executive’s idea of the future.

The Guardian

What Could Possibly Go Wrong will be a summer soundtrack for the 24-year-old’s Gen Z fanbase who, like Fike, feel carefree in the moment yet nihilistic about their future. It offers insight into the untrammelled spirit of an artist on the rise, one reassuringly unencumbered by expectations.

40
God Is in the TV
He has gotten lost in all the options open to him, eventually gathering them up into a bland, unattractive heap.
30
No Ripcord
Everything here is careful and exact, practically down to a science, which should make Fike's next career pivot even more successful—his image and his likeness down pat and virtually devoid of any surprises.

It's apparent that Dominic Fike has nearly-mastered the craft of the sub-3 minute pop song, but what did he expand on? Well...

I've always seen Fike as an outlier, plain and simple. While his music was always *there*, it never really hit as hard as I wanted. Take his 2018 EP. While it had its moments, I don't think it proved itself to be a classic yet. Or at least, something that stuck. Now, his long-awaited debut record is here, with, the same results, unfortunately.

Dominic Fike truly is acting like a Sub.

Florida based pop artist Dominic Fike has not really interested me as much as he has been forced upon me. As a huge fan of Brockhampton, Dominic's brand of alt-rap and indie rock was pretty much stapled to my forehead by force since the bidding war commenced after the release of his debut EP 'Don't Forget About Me, Demos' (recorded during house arrest, which he later was arrested for...uh...not doing that). And after near endless praise and promotion ... read more

I listened to this an hour ago and I remember that it sounded good. However I had forgotten every single song, the name of the album and even the name of the artist and had to look up my listening history to rate this
