Overall, Full Speed is probably Kid Ink’s best project to date. He sounds focused and he executes by pleasing his core fans with quality radio and club-friendly music.

70
AllMusic
There's much more fire than fodder here, enough to satisfy returning fans along with party people of all flavors.
60
Complex
He’s a thin persona and overall failure of imagination, perhaps, but he’s an effective, saleable musician, competent in voice, chords, and melodies.

HipHopDX

Most of the songs on Full Speed are catchy in their own right, but on the heels of tracks that sound so much alike just now seeing their expiration on radio, the feeling is mixed at best.

50
Rolling Stone
On his second major-label album, he has more artistic aspirations, though they're mostly flat Kanye retreads.

Spin

What disappoints most about Full Speed though is how despite the slick sheen, its lasting impression is characterized by a lack of ambition or awareness.

40
PopMatters

Ultimately Full Speed feels like an album struggling to recreate “Body Language”‘s success over and over, sing-rapping his way through a variety of pretty familiar scenes exemplifying just how hard it is to be a talent in major need of a vision.

I don't get the criticism, i mean it's not the best thing ever, but it's not as bad as some rappers out there.

It's the rappers like these that give the genre it's bad rep. Senseless lyrics, average beats and uninspiring collaborations (every bad rap album has to have at least ONE Chris Brown feature) make for one of the worst albums of 2015. This album states Kid Ink is going Full Speed, although his concepts are still in the slow lane. On the bright side, his music will still get its fair playtime in nightclubs.

Indolent and inadequate, he doesn't manage to persuade even himself.
