Welcome To Hard Times is simply a collection of beautifully written, passionately played and wonderfully sung songs that deserve as wide an audience as possible, and if you’re still unsure, give Charley a chance to convince you. He won’t let you down.

Spill Magazine

Crockett has come up with some eloquent, elegant country music that will probably survive quite longer that some of those currently popular trends in that genre. Slowly ridin’ towards a classic.

Spectrum Culture
It’s the ability to inhabit real human emotions that makes Charley Crockett’s brand of country music so enjoyable and resonant.
Crocket's warm, buttery vocals melt through his latest collection, which delves into mid-century cowboy soundtracks for its cinematic plushness and moody grace.
There's something likeable and everyman about his voice, which sits easily with the variety of vintage country styles on these 14 new songs.
American Songwriter
Crockett gives the impression of “the man that time forgot,” although his aw-shucks style and easygoing manner help make his music unforgettable.
The key to Crockett's appeal is how he melds flinty storytelling with music so colorful, it feels cinematic.

okay...it's a little more than just a country album, as there some touches of Blues & Neo-Traditional Country across the tracklist.
this record also manages to differentiate itself with Modern "Country" Music...even if it does that with old sounds that i'm quite sure if i was ... read more

A great new generation of country. I can tell Charley Crockett is trying very hard - almost a little too hard - to become a frontman of country for his generation.
