It's not all bad...The vocals are decent and the instrumentals are on the not bad side of average....But.
THE LYRICS...they aren't awful they just try really fucking hard...way too hard like seriously they end up quite cringey on tracks like "you call me a bitch like it's a bad thing" (i eye rolled too don't worry) where it's just laughable and then "Daughters Of Darkness" sounds like a shitty Alestorm reject but y'know...with different vocals...actually no the lyrics are ... read more
They're like Paramore is Hayley Williams were Chad Kroeger, and if Chad Kroeger were the lead singer of Set It Off. I used to like this album a lot, but as I've grown, it's become less and less appealing to me.
Lzzy Hale has become front and center for female-fronted hard rock in the past few years. It's hard to deny the impact that she's made with Halestorm in the modern rock scene. And this is one of the essential albums from their discography for a good reason. Halestorm does their music best when they blend hard rock elements with anthemic lyrics.
