Djinn is a haunting spirit that appears with force and power. Commanding fear through a flurry of clanging and speed. Atmosphere and technical playing weave a cast spell and it is undoubtedly entrancing. Songs like No Place Here are some of the best moments showing just how hard the band can jam and make these more progressive builds. This album was such a disappointment after how much I enjoyed their previous album, Cult of a Dying Sun. What Djinn shows, however, is a lack of creativity and dullness arising from what feels like the band writing one good song and then trying to replicate it for an entire album.
