With Adventure, Madeon’s debut LP, the producer presents a strikingly versatile collection. In a landscape filled with hot-on-paper-but-kinda-"eh" collaborations between big name vocalists and hip producers, Madeon deploys his guests with a stirring effectiveness.

Full of bounding electronic pop, Adventure featured numerous guest spots.

Adventure shows a lot of promise and will please a lot of fans, but as of now, that promise has yet to be truly fulfilled.

Adventure exposes the unavoidable give-and-take between pleasure and pain, the loss and (yes) adventure of youth. When the two come crashing together, sometimes the result makes it worth the struggle. Your feet may agree.

As 'Adventure' progresses the constant energy begins to become wearing, as if he's on a Red Bull drip while we're just drinking plain old water. In fact, by the end, listening to 'Adventure' is like being held hostage by a madman who, despite everyone wanting to go home, just refuses to let the party die.

Being a massive fan of French producer Madeon's earlier singles Icarus & Finale (the tracks that earned him a good amount of recognition), I've been trying for ages to get the opportunity to explore his album Adventure and see what he can offer with a full-length album...

What I can say is that Madeon gives us a trip back to the past, with a highly catchy Electropop-infused album that features stellar production, quirky synths that sound like something from an arcade game & a blast of ... read more

It's undeniable that this album and Worlds draw upon many parallels. Madeon and Porter Robinson are incredibly close to each other, they make pretty similar music (for the most part), and their fanbases are almost one in the same. A lot of people like to argue on whether this album or Worlds is better. Now that I've listened to Worlds a couple of times, I'm glad to say that I can finally weigh in on the debate, and it's honestly not even close.

Despite this album growing off me a bit since ... read more

i'll be honest, i don't know if this album deserves such a high score. but this album holds such a special place in my heart, right next to worlds, as one of the most influential albums of all time for me and my music taste. almost every song on here is catchy, euphoric, and just a crap ton of fun, and without this album and worlds, i probably wouldn't have an appreciation for music at all. listening to this album truly does invoke a feeling that i can't really get anywhere else.

While i've never really liked electropop as a genre due to how campy it is, I do have a lot of respect for this one in particular. love the production but damn does it get super generic at times.

While not nearly as good as his later work, Adventure is a rollercoaster of sound and color that highlights the technical skills that made Madeon popular. However, the back end of this project is pretty run-of-the-mill and boring, especially compared to the first handful of tracks, which makes me think he would have done well to be a little more concise.

Best song: "La Lune"
