There isn't enough material on this EP for me to rate it any higher, but for the most part, Act 1 is flawless. The phone call and skits were way too long, but the production is so progressive, and Jay's verses are some of the best that have ever been spit in the 2000's


I hate when an album is overloaded with skits or other noise that distracts from the MC and his production. Act 1 is 15 minutes, and I'd venture to say 9-10 of those minutes are either Willy Wonka sound bites, some foreign language, or Just Blaze/Erykah Badu raving about how great Jay Elec is.

Jay Elec is front and center for about 5-6. The fact I'd give this an 80 for just 5-6 minutes of rapping over beats goes to show just how *sensational* of an artist Jay is. He never wastes a bar on ... read more
