CVT3 has cemented that Jaden Smith will never be able to be cornered into a genre.

NME

He's laid off the voguish, trap-inspired sounds of his peers and raided the classic pop archives. The result? The 22-year-old's most cohesive collection yet.

The Needle Drop

CTV3 has quite a few duds, but also more of a stylistic focus than Jaden's previous releases.

This is possibly Jadens most adventurous project yet and by adventurous I mean he took 2 steps outside his penthouse.

Jadens music career has been a monotonous road of just waiting for him to drop an actual good album and that road is still continuing on I'm afraid. Jaden explores the indie pop territories by doing what he does best, adding nothing original or interesting while still remaining as tone deaf as he normally is. Come on dude.

Look, I REALLY want to like a Jaden project. The closest I've gotten to actually enjoying a full album of his was his debut, SYRE (which was a full three years ago!!), which had some genuinely great songs (the BLUE tracks and ICON) despite it's bloated runtime and little to no features. I liked when he mixed the indie sad boi persona with the darker and edgier moments on ERYS but it seems like he's just going for a mysterious and misunderstood indie bad boy thing here and I can't say its my thing.
The vocals are monotonous, the tracks aren't really fleshed out and dont have much meat to ... read more

Having a big budget doesn't equal making good songs.

Jaden should tell the people that make his music that they need to actually finish the tracks...

I don't know what I was expecting but somehow I am disappointed on a Jaden Smith's project. How could I have hopes for this?

This dude literally has no flow. It feels like he just talked for 52 minutes while some beats inspired on Flower Boy sounded on the background.

Best songs: Circa 2015 and Deep End are the only ones I didn't hate.
