Detroit State Of Mind was an excellent start to Danny Brown's career. An amazing project lyrically with sometimes dated but mostly really good production. This tape has a very 90s feel to it and that's clear from the first song "Get Down" where Danny Brown talks about his life in Detroit while referencing Nas' classic track "N.Y State Of Mind" in almost every bar in spectacular fashion.
