At 4 tracks and 12 minutes, this innocuously titled project wouldn't appear to be communicating any significant message from the outset. These are, by and large, succinct pop songs which vary in style, only loosely interconnected. It seems only fair that this miniature project be judged as a collection of unassuming, fairly low-stakes pop songs, the way they seem to have been designed. This EP From Michelle Zauner and Ryan Galloway is actually a pretty sweet Indie Pop/Synth Pop project. It’s light on the ears, sort of futuristic sounding as well. And if you know Michelle’s style, then you’ll know it’s right up her alley. A lot of the production does worry me, and the one ballad here is pretty hard to sit through. But there’s certainly a ton of potential between these two working together.
