With two new guitarists, Dark Tranquillity seamlessly dive into an album of melancholic, atmospheric, metal that can only loosely be associated with standard melodic death metal.
Metal Hammer

Anthemic, pummelling and heartstring-plucking, Moment is the outing with which DT deserve to grab that elusive brass ring. On a par with contemporaries At The Gates, this is a grand effort worthy of genre acclaim.

While Moment bears a sonic imprint easily recognizable as Dark Tranquillity's, its songwriting, arranging, production, and performances are rife with fresh inspiration and creativity.

For long-time fans, who’ve adapted to Dark Tranquillity’s familiar musical pendulum, Moment will be an enjoyable listen, as it’s more of the same theatrical songwriting that the band have perfected over the years. However, therein lies the problem: it’s more of the same and offers nothing you can’t find on any of their previous records.

Dark Tranquillity - Moment

Genre: Melodic Death Metal
Country: Sweden

Final Verdict: 63% (Good Album)
Yearly Ranking: 361th / 1053

Highlight: Identical to none

Made me think of:
In Flames
At The Gates
Amon Amarth
Nothing gets more stereotypical than a stereotypical DT album.
I liked it, specially the moments when Mikael switchs his voice between clean voice and gutural, it's so cool, dark tranquility gives us an album with them characteristic sound from years ago but with new sounds that sometimes makes me remind me to Opeth.

What does it wrong with this album? maybe Dark Tranquility is doing the same formula, it's no bad but they aren't risking to new sounds.
